About Vasant Perfect Chilli Powder (Lal Mirch Powder) 1kg Pack
Vasant Perfect Chilli Powder is a red chilli powder made with chillies from Guntur in Andhra Pradesh, a region famous across India for its chilli crop. Vasant Masala lists cotton seed oil alongside the chillies, and this 1kg pack is the larger size for homes and kitchens that cook spicy food often.
The powder gives dishes a deep red colour and a heat that Vasant describes as balanced, sitting in the medium to high range. It suits people who like their food with a proper kick but still want to taste the other spices. Gujarati kitchens call it marchu powder, Hindi speakers say lal mirch powder, and in Tamil Nadu it is milagai thool. Since the colour is deep, you need less of it to get a rich red gravy, and the larger pack means you can use it freely for weekend batches of chutney or masala without worrying about the jar running empty.
Use a teaspoon in sabjis, dal and curries for colour and spice, then adjust to your taste. It works in misal, usal, pav bhaji, chutneys, marinades for paneer or chicken, and home-made masala blends. Because the heat is on the stronger side, start with a little less if children or elders are eating.
Masala365 is an authorised Vasant Masala distributor in Kandivali West. We deliver the 1kg Perfect Chilli Powder pack across Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Thane, and orders from other parts of India are taken on WhatsApp inquiry.
