Indian grocery stores exist in most big cities overseas, but they rarely stock the exact brand a family has cooked with for years, and imported Indian spices usually cost more than they do at home. For a student living on a budget, that adds up. A few sealed packs of Vasant haldi, mirchi, dhania and garam masala in the suitcase mean the first home-cooked dal abroad tastes like the one from home.

How it works

1. Choose the masala. Add products to the cart, or add the whole student starter list below in one tap.
2. Tick "This masala is going abroad" in the cart and add the country.
3. Send the order on WhatsApp. Mention the travel date so we can plan delivery.
4. We deliver in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai or Thane. Delivery is ₹39 per KG. The packs then travel in luggage or with the courier you choose. We do not ship internationally.

Packing masala for a flight

• Keep every spice in its sealed, original Vasant pack so the label and ingredients are visible.
• Put the packs together in a zip bag inside checked luggage. It keeps the aroma in and any spills away from clothes.
• Choose 100G pouches and small jars over large packs if luggage weight is tight.
• Declare food items when the destination country asks you to, and check its official customs website before travelling.
