About Vasant Turmeric Powder (Haldi Powder) 1kg Pack
Vasant Turmeric Powder in the 1kg offer pack is the bulk size of one of the most used spices in any Indian kitchen. Haldi goes into the dal, the sabji, the khichdi and the pulao, so a larger pack makes sense for big families, tiffin kitchens and anyone who does not want to run out halfway through the month.
Turmeric powder has a warm, earthy taste with a light bitterness, and its main job in most recipes is colour. A small amount turns dal a soft yellow and gives curries their familiar golden base. It is known as haldi in Hindi, halad in Marathi and haldar in Gujarati, and it is almost always one of the first spices to go into hot oil after the tadka. Good haldi should look bright and smell earthy the moment you open the pack.
Use a quarter to half teaspoon in dal, kadhi, sabjis, curries, lemon rice and poha. It is also used in pickles, for marinating fish and paneer, and in the everyday haldi doodh many families make at night. A little goes a long way, so add less at first; too much turmeric can make a dish taste bitter.
Masala365 is an authorised Vasant Masala distributor in Kandivali West. We deliver this 1kg turmeric pack across Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Thane, and customers in the rest of India can order on WhatsApp inquiry.
How to use
- Add a quarter to half teaspoon to dal, kadhi and sabjis
- Put it in hot oil right after the tadka so the raw taste cooks off
- Use a pinch in poha, upma and lemon rice for colour
- Mix with salt and chilli powder to marinate fish or paneer
- Keep the bulk pack sealed and refill a small jar as needed
Always check the printed pack for the latest ingredient, allergen and best-before details.
