About Vasant Everyday Cooking Combo (Chilli, Haldi, Dhana Jeeru 500G)
The Vasant Everyday Cooking Combo is meant for the food most homes actually eat through the week: dal, rice, rotli and a shaak or sabzi. It has three 500G packs, Perfect Chilli Powder, Turmeric Powder and Coriander Cumin Powder, for a total of 1.5 KG.
This is the classic Gujarati trio. Perfect Chilli Powder gives weekday dishes their heat, from bateta nu shaak to dal fry and chutney. Turmeric Powder is added in small pinches to dal, khichdi and vegetables for colour and flavour. Coriander Cumin Powder, or dhana jeeru, is the ready mix that saves roasting and grinding coriander and cumin separately, and it goes into almost every shaak, kadhi and dal in a Gujarati kitchen.
The combo is a straightforward monthly restock for families who cook every day. It also suits newly married couples setting up home, and parents packing a supply of familiar masalas for a son or daughter studying in another country, where the right dhana jeeru can be hard to find. How to use
- Add chilli powder after the tadka so it does not burn
- Use turmeric in small pinches in dal and khichdi
